Midlantic Construction of Barnegat, NJ retained Alpha 3 to provide CPM scheduling services for the widening and rehabilitation of the Patcong Creek Bridge at Milepost 31 on the Garden State Parkway.

The project included superstructure replacement, substructure improvements, and widening of the bridge to accommodate three lanes of traffic in each direction. Design services for the project were provided by LS Engineering of Montville, NJ. Parsons Brinckerhoff of New York, NY provided construction management services to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The Patcong Creek Bridge project was part of a $1.1-billion, six-year program to widen and improve the Garden State Parkway. Work included the removal of traffic signals at Parkway exits 9, 10, and 11, which had been plagued with backups during the summer travel season. The overall program also included widening of the Mullica River Bridge and the widening and rehabilitation of the Bass River Bridge.
