Alpha 3 is seeking a Senior Partner with experience in organizational strategy and asset management to assist our clients with navigating simultaneous generational changes in technology and the structure of their workforce. This role will help our clients to develop strategies for the evolution of their physical infrastructure and human resources to accommodate these changes. The Senior Partner will attend management meetings and participate in strategic decision-making for the company with the goal of joining as an equity partner. Particular experience for this role should include past responsibility for business development and customer relationship management.

Example consulting assignments include:

  • Working with clients and partners to establish and achieve goals for their physical assets, users and workforce related to sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Developing structures to report metrics to investors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Working with investors, clients, and OEMs to develop strategies around the implementation of technologies that may include fleet electrification, vehicle charging stations, driverless vehicles, energy demand response programs, energy resilience, and asset monitoring and control
  • Identifying human-resource needs to implement client projects and portfolios and helping clients to determine the right balance of employees, contractors, and on-site, hybrid, and remote workforce
  • Participating in industry and government forums and events related to sustainable infrastructure, DEI, and the future of work
  • Providing thought leadership through social media and traditional media channels

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for defining strategy in sectors with both significant physical and human infrastructure
  • Experience developing consulting opportunities and providing consulting services with a focus in the energy or transportation industry
  • An understanding of trends in the energy and transportation industry, especially those related to the modernization of the electric grid and the electrification of transportation
  • An understanding of modern workforce trends and concepts
  • Lateral thinking and an ability to work with a diverse team to craft holistic solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • At least eight years of relevant experience
  • An advanced degree in business management, engineering, law, or political science
  • Professional licensure in a relevant area of engineering, law, or accounting

Base salary, incentive salary, and the terms of equity acquisition by the Senior Partner will be negotiated based on considerations including the qualifications and experience of the applicant. Immediately available benefits will include:

Alpha 3 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support electrical utility and private distribution projects. The Engineer will apply knowledge and experience to analyze, evaluate, and create new designs and drawings and revise existing designs and drawings for electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities will include field reviews, sketches, CADD, and GIS design. The Engineer will use knowledge of components, arrangements, and standards to complete design packages for aerial and underground electric distribution lines and provide guidance to designers and drafters.

Required qualifications include:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree or better in the design of electric distribution systems
  • 4+ years of experience in the design of electric utility distribution systems
  • P.E. license or EIT with near-term ability and intent to obtain a license
  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems including familiarity with physical characteristics, access, connection, and support requirements for poles, conductors, pad-mounted and pole-mounted transformers, disconnects, reclosers, and similar equipment.
  • Utility distribution project experience, including:
    • Familiarity with clearance requirements 
    • Knowledge of construction traffic control
    • Knowledge of common network configurations and components
    • Knowledge of electrical codes including NEC and NESC
    • Knowledge of CADD and GIS tools

Alpha 3 is seeking Project Controls Associates for work in the electric utility and transportation markets.  Applicants should have at least three years of scheduling, project controls, and project management support experience in the engineering and construction industry. Preferred qualifications include:

               •    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management
               •    Proficiency in Primavera P6
               •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
               •    Thorough understanding of the critical path method (CPM)
               •    Experience with recommended practices for project controls
               •    Ability to use project controls tools and create and customize reports to suit client needs
               •    Strong presentation and analytical skills
               •    Ability to understand and adapt to various client standards, preferences, and procedures

The Lead Designer will apply knowledge and experience to analyze, evaluate, and create new designs and drawings and revise existing designs and drawings for electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities will include field survey, sketches, CADD, and GIS design. The Lead Designer will use knowledge of components, arrangements, and standards to complete design packages for aerial and underground electric distribution lines and provide guidance to other designers.

Required qualifications include:

  • Associates Degree in the design of electric distribution systems

  • 10+ years of experience in the design of electric utility distribution systems

  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems including familiarity with physical characteristics, access, connection, and support requirements for poles, conductors, pad-mounted and pole-mounted transformers, disconnects, reclosers, and similar equipment.

  • Utility distribution project experience, including:

    •      Familiarity with clearance requirements

    •      Experience in preparing construction traffic control plans

Required qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of common substation configurations, clearance requirements, and layouts
  • Adaptation to various client drafting standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microstation CADD tools

  • Ability to visualize and design work in 2D and 3D
